End of February 2024 Update!

Happy March, folks! Casey here with Nuclear Swords to give you all an update for the end of February! Normally, I like to do these on or around the last day of the month so I’m a day late but you deserve an update anyway!

First off, we’re about one full month into the birth of Nuclear Swords, the small game studio I started/am starting and I’m very excited with the direction we’re heading. So far, we’re about 3 or so people ranging from writing to art. Our weakest field right now is the audio/music department. Nobody on the team has experience using tools outside of microphones for voice recording. However, that won’t discourage us from learning different tools and methods of getting cool music and audio into our projects! Also, our Discord server has been updated to include a ticketing system for bug reporting. There’s still plenty to do in terms of getting this studio up and running but we’re really excited to see where it goes!

That brings me to what the studio will be doing later this year. While this isn’t 100% confirmed yet, we’re strongly considering becoming a part of Pirate Software’s July Game Jam! Themes are decided on the start date, but we figured it’d be good to get experience and our name out there! Look forward to more news on that in the future.

Now, onto the modding news! For the most part, I’ve completed my contribution to Arcane University’s Student Collaborative Project, “Henantir’s Steamcrag”. There may need to be some minor tweaks but it’s relatively done and looks really good! I’ve learned so much in terms of particle use, navmesh, cluttering, optimization, and many more useful methods! In fact, sometime in the future, I may go back and update The Hidden Tomb of Hircine with these new methods to make it look and feel better!

This also means I’m back to work on “Not of Planet Earth”. I’ve landscaped and gotten a general layout of the Observatory placed in a satisfactory arrangement. Also, I’m afraid that, most likely, the mod will not be released by Summer. There’s still SO much to do and, with Spring approaching, Summer is seeming much less likely. However, don’t forget that I will be posting updates monthly on the mod’s progress, so remain optimistic! I’m very excited about where this is going, especially with Fallout: London and the Fallout Prime TV Show releasing next month!

That’s all I got for now, folks! I hope you had an awesome February and I’ll see you again at the end of March! Have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day and, if I don’t see you by then, a Happy Easter!
