My Next Project: The Tomb of Hircine

Howdy folks, Casey here! I just wanted to give you all an update on what my next modding project will be in regards to my Game Development Journey. My previous mod was for Morrowind (which you can find in my Portfolio) where I added a home to Solstheim with some features that aren’t in the base game, such as a pet dog, chopping wood, and rowboat travel around the island. My next project is being pulled from the past. If you know me, you know there was once a mod for Skyrim that I was working on, and was immensely proud of, but never got to finish after losing the files when getting a new PC. I’m restarting that project, making the storyline of it better and I’m finally going to finish it. The project is called: The Tomb of Hircine.

Back in Morrowind’s Expansion, Bloodmoon, you were apart of a prophecy: The Bloodmoon Prophecy. Depending on your choices, you either became a werewolf or trusted your own skills to defeat (or work with) Captain Carius, Tharsten Heart-Fang, Karstaag then, lastly, Hircine himself (or, at least, an aspect of his). When you defeated Hircine, the Great Hunt had failed and the body of his aspect had disappeared.

However, one lone werewolf survived the fall of Mortrag Glacier, and he was dedicated to finishing Hircine’s work. After turning many Nords, Imperials, and wandering Dunmer of Solstheim to werewolves and tormenting the rest of the island, his name became unanimous with Hircine and was often considered another physical form of Hircine. After the final eruption of the Red Mountain on Vvardenfell, fleeing Dunmer, the Imperials at Fort Frostmoth, and the Skaal all worked to push back and fight Hircine’s followers and ultimately defeated them. Hircine’s followers were forced to flee and disappeared. It’s said that the Survivor of Mortrag Glacier was killed by a mighty Skaal Warrior and was taken into a tomb in Northwestern Solstheim. You have been tasked to find that tomb.

A travelling archaeologist has researched and believes he’s found, what’s been called, The Hidden Tomb of Hircine inside the lair of an incredibly large bear, named by the locals, “Golgan”. It’s been said that Golgan was gifted by Hircine to protect his followers’ tomb by vastly increasing his size, strength, and appetite. Do these rumors have any truth behind them? That’ll be for you to find out! I’m hard at work right now on the level for Golgan’s Lair then will deep dive into the level of Hircine’s Tomb. I hope you all really enjoy this next project once it’s finally completed!

Another project I’m working on when I’m not at my PC with the Creation Kit but have spare time is an Original Story set in the Fallout universe. As of right now, I’m dubbing it “Fallout: Rebellion”. Keep an eye on my Reddit and this website for more updates on that as it develops!

Thanks for reading, I’m super excited to continue my Game Development Journey, and I’m STILL very motivated to achieve my dream of being a Designer at Bethesda Game Studios, the best video game creators in the world!
